The next generation of telecommunications infrastructure will require diverse and innovative technologies that can keep up with the amount of information being shared. It is particularly important for the U.S. and Japan to promote investment in telecommunications infrastructure that is secure, open, and transparent. Leaders from the U.S., Japan, Australia, and India met last year to discuss this very topic, highlighting the need to foster initiative and trustworthy telecommunications vendors through approaches like the open Radio Access Network (open RAN), which was included in the Biden administration’s new Indo-Pacific Strategy. What more can the U.S. and Japan do to help develop open RAN? How can the U.S. and Japan work with emerging markets to make sure their network systems are secure as well? Join us for this timely conversation.
