Please be advised: This event will premiere LIVE on this page at 4:00 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, March 30.

Join Hudson Institute’s Asia-Pacific Security Chair and Senior Fellow Dr. Patrick M. Cronin and Senior Fellow Dr. John Lee for a conversation with expert panelists Dr. Samantha Hoffman, Harry Krejsa and Dr. Charles Edel on the U.S.-Australia alliance and the challenges posed by China’s techno-authoritarianism, political interference, disinformation, and influence operations.

This panel of leading experts will break down the national security risks created by China’s efforts to cultivate influence in foreign countries while expanding its technology-enabled surveillance capabilities at home and abroad—looking at the comparative approaches of Canberra and Washington and discussing how the two powers can work together to meet this challenge.

This event is the third and final virtual panel discussion in a series examining China’s actions in the information domain and the implications for the U.S.-Australia alliance. Earlier panels explored supply chain vulnerabilities and the defense and national security risks created by China’s rise as an information superpower.
