Join Hudson Institute for a panel discussion with Hudson’s Kleptocracy Initiative and distinguished experts on opportunities for U.S. global leadership in the fight against authoritarian kleptocracy.

Kleptocracy has become a pervasive threat to democracy, prosperity, and security around the world. Dangerous authoritarian regimes now routinely use corruption as a tool of foreign policy as their political elites grow rich through bribery and embezzlement of public funds. President-elect Joe Biden has committed to exposing and countering kleptocracy as a major foreign policy and national security priority of the United States, with anti-corruption efforts forming one of three pillars at the planned Summit for Democracy.

In Countering Global Kleptocracy: A New US Strategy for Fighting Authoritarian Corruption, Nate Sibley, Research Fellow at Hudson and Ben Judah, Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, examine the threats posed by transnational corruption and set out 70 policy recommendations for the Biden-Harris administration and the 117th Congress. The panel will discuss the findings of the report and related issues at this timely panel event.
