Associate Administrator for Strategy and Plans, National Aeronautics and Space Administration

On November 8, Hudson Institute hosted Ajit Pai, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, to discuss the Commission’s strategy for advancing America’s role in the new space age.

Chairman Pai discussed the intersection of space policy and the FCC’s efforts to promote new technologies that can strengthen the nation’s communications infrastructure. While normally not thought of as in the purview of the FCC, the agency is exploring new and better ways to enable satellite systems in low earth orbit and other space-based technologies to close the digital divide and promote innovation. The conversation also included NASA Associate Administrator Thomas Cremins and was moderated by Hudson Senior Fellow Harold Furchtgott-Roth.
