On November 9, Hudson Institute hosted a discussion to explore the evolving role of American seapower and its expeditionary capabilities. As the United States faces a new round of great power competitions that aim to restrict freedom of the seas, the role of expeditionary forces are rising in importance as the U.S. Navy seeks to deter aggression, assure allies, sustain U.S. interests, and respond to crises.
Major General David W. Coffman USMC, Director of Expeditionary Warfare (N95) for the U.S. Navy, joined Bryan McGrath, Hudson Institute’s Deputy Director of the Center for American Seapower, for the discussion.
