Congressman Mike Turner on the State of NATO and U.S. Foreign Relations

Since 1949, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has played a vital role consolidating strategic foreign alliances, reinforcing shared interests, and promoting democracy around the world. While it has changed significantly in the twenty-first century, NATO is far from obsolete. With the drawn-out conflict in the Middle East, ever-increasing Russian aggression, and the complicated status of the European Union as it undergoes Brexit, NATO remains a vital tool for supporting democracy and global stability.

Congressman Mike Turner represents Ohio’s 10th district and is the president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the inter-parliamentary organization of legislators from NATO countries.
