Former Senior Fellow

On October 21st, Rear Admiral Chris Parry joined Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Arthur Herman for an engaging conversation about the nature of modern conflicts at sea.

During the Falklands War, Rear Admiral Parry was a member of a helicopter flight for the destroyer, HMS Antrim. His missions included the rescue of 16 SAS troops from a glacier in South Georgia, the destruction of the Argentinian submarine Santa Fe, and the amphibious landings at San Carlos. With reference to his best-selling book Down South, A Falklands War Diary, Rear Admiral Parry will lay to rest some of the enduring myths perpetuated about the conflict and reflect on the lessons of the crisis from a modern perspective.
