Join Hudson Institute and the Manufacturing Policy Initiative (MPI) at Indiana University for a discussion series entitled “Strengthening U.S. Manufacturing.” The discussions will conclude with Manufacturing Day on October 2, 2020, with an event hosted by MPI featuring representatives of the presidential campaigns.

Robust innovation is critical to the success of the U.S. manufacturing sector. Are policymakers doing enough to support the American manufacturing innovation base? What policies are needed to spur innovation and thereby boost productivity, enhance U.S. competitiveness and expand U.S. manufacturing global market share?

Gil Kaplan, Manufacturing Policy Initiative senior fellow and former under secretary of commerce at the U.S. Department of Commerce, will moderate the conversation. Hudson Senior Fellow Thomas Duesterberg will introduce Gil Kaplan.
