Join Hudson Institute for an update by U.S. Deputy Special Representative for North Korea Alex Wong on the North Korea nuclear negotiations. Wong has an extensive background in international relations, defense policy, national security issues, and has held numerous government positions. He will give remarks on the negotiation’s latest developments.

After a year of stalled talks in 2019, North Korea commenced the new decade by restarting rocket engine tests and initiating a rollback of its nuclear and missile testing moratorium.

What tone does North Korea’s provocative actions set for U.S. relations with the rogue state in 2020? Can we expect a breakthrough in negotiations? What interest does China have in helping or thwarting a deal on the Korean peninsula?

Panel experts will answer these questions, identify potential paths forward, and pose recommendations for strengthening the alliance between the U.S. and South Korea.

NOTE: This event is open to the press. All members of the media should RSVP to [email protected].
