John P. Walters

President and CEO

Former United States Senator Senator Phil Gramm will join Hudson’s President John Walters to discuss the senator’s new book, The Triumph of Economic Freedom: Debunking the Seven Great Myths of American Capitalism.

In the book, Senator Gramm explores the events in American history often used to justify expanded government control—from the Industrial Revolution and the Great Depression to the Great Recession and current debates over inequality and poverty. He makes the case that government intervention, rather than capitalism itself, poses the greatest threat to prosperity and opportunity.

Senator Gramm will discuss the book’s findings, how economic freedom drives human flourishing, and why conventional wisdom about capitalism deserves a second look.

Copies of the book will be available.
