“His expertise in technology, government, and defense will be invaluable as we forge policy solutions in an increasingly contested global environment.”
WASHINGTON—Hudson Institute announced the addition of Shyam Sankar, chief technology officer and executive vice president of Palantir Technologies, to its Board of Trustees. Sankar will play a key role in guiding Hudson’s strategy in pursuit of security, freedom, and prosperity for America and its allies.
“Through his impressive career pioneering disruptive technologies for government and the private sector, Shyam brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic vision to Hudson’s Board,” Hudson President and CEO John P. Walters said. “His expertise in technology, government, and defense will be invaluable as we forge policy solutions in an increasingly contested global environment.”
“We are delighted to welcome Shyam to Hudson’s Board of Trustees,” Sarah May Stern, chair of Hudson’s Board of Trustees, said. “His experience and expertise will be tremendous assets as we work to advance Hudson’s mission and shape impactful policy solutions that meet the challenges of our time.”
Sankar has spent over two decades building and delivering new state-of-the-art software and artificial intelligence solutions for both government and private sector institutions. Under his leadership, Palantir transformed from a Silicon Valley startup to a global, industry leading software and AI company. He routinely leads strategic sessions with elected officials and has appeared before the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party and the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Cybersecurity. He holds a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in management science and engineering from Stanford University. Sankar also serves as the chairman of Ginkgo Bioworks.
“I am honored to join Hudson’s Board of Trustees, and I look forward to tackling the most pressing challenges of our time, from the future of defense to cybersecurity to the evolving role of AI,” Sankar said. “Hudson’s commitment to concrete, tested solutions to ensure the U.S. remains ahead of its adversaries in the competition for global security and technological dominance is something I deeply believe in, and I look forward to contributing innovative ideas to this important mission.”
