On December 6, the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice launched a consultation on a policy statement concerning patents essential to practice industry standards, such as the 5G standard. This would be the third policy statement issued by the agencies on this topic if adopted. What are the proposed revisions? Are they needed?
