Please be advised: This event will premiere LIVE on this page at 10:00 a.m. EDT, Monday, March 15.

Hudson Institute will host Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India’s Ambassador to the United States, for a discussion on U.S.-India relations and Indian foreign policy. Hudson Institute’s Ravenel B. Curry III Distinguished Fellow Walter Russell Mead will moderate the conversation.

Ambassador Sandhu assumed his current post in February of 2020. He served in the Indian Mission in Washington D.C. twice before his ambassadorship, as the first secretary (political)—acting as the embassy’s liaison to Congress—and then as the deputy chief of mission from 2013 to 2017. Ambassador Sandhu was part of India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York from 2005 to 2009.

With developments in the Indo-Pacific region, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, shifts in global trade and a new U.S. presidential administration, both India and the U.S. face many challenges and opportunities. Hudson Institute is pleased to welcome Ambassador Sandhu to discuss these timely issues.
