Hudson Institute will host a discussion on strengthening the U.S. defense against economic threats posed by its adversaries. Nadia Schadlow, a senior fellow at Hudson, and Anthony Vinci, an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security and the former chief technology officer at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, will address these emerging threats and how the U.S. can evolve to confront them directly.

As the United States and China continue to compete for global leadership, economic threats are becoming more commonplace. To respond effectively to these threats, the U.S. will require significant improvements to its economic collection, analysis, and operational capabilities akin to the overhaul of U.S. counterterrorism capabilities post-9/11. The two will discuss the merits of creating a National Economic Defense Center, modeled after the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), which would compile, analyze, and coordinate responses to economic threats.
