Uzi Landau,

Minister of National Infrastructure, Israel

Hudson Institute welcomed Uzi Landau, Israel's Minister of National Infrastructure, for an address on how Israel and the United States are cooperating to reduce dependence on oil.

Landau examined how Israel is uniquely positioned to play a role in the global fight against oil dependence by developing alternative energy technologies, including solar and wind electrical generation, and battery-powered automobiles. He took questions from the audience following his presentation.

Prior to his appointment as Minister of National Infrastructure in 2009, Uzi Landau, a Member of the Knesset from Yisrael Beitanu party, served as Israel's Minister of Public Security, and as Minister in the Prime Minister's Office.

A systems analyst by profession who once served as Director General of Israel's Transport Ministry, Landau holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Technion in Haifa.
