Former Commissioner and new Hudson Visiting Fellow Robert McDowell's tenure at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was marked by his effort to forge bipartisan consensus in adopting communication policies to promote economic expansion, investment, innovation, competition, and consumer choice.
Prior to joining the FCC, McDowell was Senior Vice President for the Competitive Telecommunications Association and served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of America's Carriers Telecommunications Association. A graduate of Duke University and the College of William and Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law, McDowell is a leading voice in combating efforts for the multilateral regulation of the Internet.
