Brigadier General (Res.) Itai Brun will join Senior Fellow Dr. Michael Doran to examine the strategic, organizational, and analytical factors that enabled Hamas’s October 7 surprise attack. They will explore how Israel’s security apparatus failed to adapt to Hamas’s evolving strategy due to institutional blind spots and an inaccurate threat perception. They will also identify meaningful lessons Israel and other nations should learn to strengthen their preparedness.
