Dr. Donald Stoker is professor of national security and resource strategy at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School of the National Defense University in Washington, DC. From 1999 to 2017, he was professor of strategy and policy for the US Naval War College program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. In 2016, he was a fellow of the University of Oxford’s Changing Character of War Programme at Pembroke College. During the 2017–18 academic year, he was distinguished visiting Fulbright professor of political science at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, Austria.
His latest book is Purpose and Power: American Grand Strategy from the Revolutionary Era to the Present, which was published by Cambridge University Press in early 2024.
