Join Nina Shea, director of Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, Senior Fellow Nury Turkel, and experts Xiaoxu Sean Lin and Robert A. Destro for a discussion on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) war on religious freedom.

The genocide of the Uyghurs has brought global attention to the persecution of religious minorities—including Muslims, Christians, Falun Gong practitioners and Tibetan Buddhists—by the CCP. Following Xi Jinping's directive to “Sinicize” religion in 2018, the state issued regulations requiring houses of worship to uphold CCP dictates that include censorship, high-tech surveillance, and restricted membership. New administrative rules issued this year specify that religious leaders must actively support CCP practices, leadership, and core values, even in sermons and teachings. How can the U.S. and other democracies promote greater religious freedom and human rights inside China? Please join Hudson Institute for this timely discussion.
