Blair Levin and Harold Furchtgott-Roth talked about the short- and long-term implications of the October 1-16, 2013, federal government shutdown on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Issues included delays in spectrum auction, frequency and device application approvals, and other issues. Mr. Levin was chief of staff to FCC Chairman Reed Hundt during the shutdown in 1995 and Mr.Furchtgott-Roth was the chief economist with the House Commerce Committee during the last shutdown.
