Former Japanese Ambassador to the US
Masafumi Ishii is a former Japanese Ambassador to the US and teaches International Law at Gakushuin University.
Masafumi Ishii joined Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980. He held key roles in Tokyo, including Policy Planning Director and Legal Advisor. His overseas posts include Washington, London, Belgium, and NATO as Ambassador. He now teaches International Law at Gakushuin University and advises Japanese companies.
