Hudson Institute will host a panel to discuss the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Panelists will include Foundation for Defense of Democracies Senior Fellow Behnam Ben Taleblu, American Progress Senior Fellow Brian Katulis, the Middle East Institute's Fatima al-Asrar, and Hudson Senior Fellow Michael Pregent. The discussion will be moderated by The National's Joyce Karam.

Iran has been actively escalating tensions with the United States in an attempt to persuade JCPOA signatories to pressure the U.S. into preserving the deal and easing sanctions. These actions include shooting down a U.S. drone and the seizure of multiple oil tankers in the strait of Hormuz in order to limit access to a key economic waterway in the region. Despite Iran’s provocations, the U.S. has stood firm in its “maximum pressure” campaign and increased efforts to rally allies. The panel will consider how the international community can continue to mitigate the effects of Iran’s reckless behavior and what confrontation might look like if Iran persists.

**NOTE: This event is open to the press. All members of the media should RSVP to press@hudson.org.**
