On July 11-12, amid increasingly contentious relations, members of NATO will gather in Brussels for what will likely be one of the tensest summits in the organization’s history. The Alliance faces a slew of challenges that will be at the forefront of next week’s discussions, including burden-sharing, terrorism and migration, countering an increasingly assertive Russia, and NATO’s eastern border.

On July 12, Hudson Institute hosted a public event to discuss the summit and the many challenges currently faced by the Alliance. The high-level panel will consist of European Parliament members; the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Lulzim Basha; and American experts, including Hudson Senior Fellow Rebeccah Heinrichs and the Centre for European Policy Analysis' Peter Doran. The conversation was moderated by Hudson Research Fellow Benjamin Haddad.
